Many buyers still ask for electro-galvanized, but hot-dip zinc is holding ground for exterior framing and pallet yards. Sustainability? It’s happening in small but real ways—lower bath temps, recyclable packaging, and EPDs on request.
Material is low-carbon wire rod (Q195/Q235; ≈0.06–0.12% C). Steps: pickling and lubrication, wire drawing, optional annealing, cold heading (wide flat head), shank forming (smooth), diamond point, surface treatment (bright, electro-galv, or hot-dip), inline sorting, then carton or bulk packing. QC runs to ASTM F1667 and EN 10230-1, with salt-spray checks per ASTM B117. Real-world service life: indoor 10–20 years; outdoor hot-dip ≈5–15 years depending on exposure.
